Thomas E. Reid, 66, of Madison, passed away on March 30, 2017 at Morristown Medical Center. Born in Queens N.Y. in 1951, Tom began living in Madison at age eight and was a Madison resident for a total of over 49 years. He graduated from St. Vincent Marty School in 1964 and Madison High School in 1968 and attended Fairleigh Dickinson University. He worked at Electric Arc, Inc. of Morris Plains, Followed by E.P. Reid, Inc. of Lyndhurst, and then Madison Stop & Shop. He sang in the St. Vincent's church choir for many years. He was an avid photographer who also dabbled in creative writing, and he enjoyed following politics and volunteering with liberal political campaigns. He is survived by brothers Brian, James, Kevin (Felicia) and Paul; sister-in-law Tricia: nieces Anna, Carson, Gabrielle, Madeleine, Mackenzie and Penelope; and step-mother Ruth. He was predeceased by his parents, Lois and Edward, and his brother Michael. Tom will be fondly remembered for his humility, humor, candor, and compassion. Family and friends are welcome to gather on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Burroughs, Kohr & Dangler Funeral Home, 106 Main Street, Madison. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas More Church, 4 Convent Road, Morristown. Interment will follow at St. Vincent's Cemetery.
