Obituary of James M Sokolowsky

James M. Sokolowsky, 58, formerly of Morris Plains, more recently of Flanders, passed away on March 7, 2016 at Morristown Medical Center. Born in Morristown, James resided in Morris Plains before moving to Flanders a year ago. James graduated from Morristown High School in 1975. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army National Guard. James owned and operated Sokolowsky Lawn Service, until he retired in 1996. James is survived by his loving wife, Debra (Smith) Sokolowsky, and his devoted daughter, Amanda Northam, and her husband, Dillon, of Norfolk, VA. He is also survived by his beloved siblings, Simon Sokolowsky, and his wife, Beverly (Viavant), Mary Sokolowsky Wiest, and her husband, Richard Wiest, Kathryn Sokolowsky D’Agostini, Virginia Sokolowsky Allen, and her husband, William M. Allen, and Andrew Sokolowsky, and his wife, Jeanne (Taylor); as well as many cherished cousins, nieces, and nephews. James was predeceased by his parents, John and Lucille Sokolowsky; and his brother, John Patrick Sokolowsky, III. Family and friends are welcome to gather on Thursday, March 10, 2016 from 10:00am – 12:30pm at Dangler Funeral Home, 600 Speedwell Avenue, Morris Plains. A Funeral Service for James will be held at 12:30pm, following the visiting hours, at the Funeral Home. Interment will be private.
