Obituary of Robert W Bendziewicz

Robert W. Bendziewicz, 87, formerly of West Orange, NJ, more recently of New Ringgold, PA, passed away suddenly on August 29, 2016 with his loving family by his side. Born in Dixon City, PA, Robert lived in New Ringgold for the last 11 years; coming from West Orange, where he lived for over 50 years. Robert proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member and past Commander of the American Legion - Post 73, Instructor for U.S. Power Squadron, Past Commodore of Patten Point Yacht Club, and B.P.O.E. 1590 (West Orange). In addition, Robert was a member of the Academy Of Model Aeronautics, Family Motor Coach Association, 20th Century Wagon Trainers of NJ, and Penn Coachman RV Club. He also enjoyed building and flying model planes. Robert was the owner of Fra-Bob Radio &Television in West Orange for many years; retiring in 1992. Robert is survived by his loving wife, Janice (Webb) Bendziewicz, with whom he just celebrated 56 years of marriage; his devoted daughters, Julia Wiegel, and her husband, Rich, Linda Paserchia, and her husband, Mike, and Amy Ennis, and her husband, Brian. He was the dear grandfather of Nicole, Robert, Kylie, Shannon, and JP. Robert is also survived by his brother, Richard Bendziewicz, his sister, Ruth Preston; his sister-in-law, Clare Bendziewicz; as well as many nieces and nephews. Robert was predeceased by his brother, Frank Bendziewicz (1993). Family and friends are welcome to gather on Thursday, September 1, 2016 from 4-8pm at Burroughs, Kohr, & Dangler Funeral Home, 106 Main Street, Madison. A Funeral Mass for Robert will be held on Friday September 2, 2016 at 10:00am at Saint Rose of Lima Church, 316 Ridgedale Ave., East Hanover. Due to the holiday, interment will take place at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Cemetery on September 7, 2016 at 12:30pm. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations in memory of Robert may be made to: West Penn Fire Company and Fire Police, 21 Municipal Road, New Ringgold, PA 17960.
