Obituary of Kathleen A Battle

Kathleen A. Battle (nee McCrory), 96, of Florham Park, NJ, passed away peacefully at home on September 9, 2016. Kathleen was born in County Tyrone, Ireland, and came to the United States in 1946. In her younger years, Kathleen worked in a hair salon. After her children were grown, she worked in various school cafeterias in the Florham Park and Madison school districts. Kathleen was a very strong and religious woman. She was a gentle, loving person with a kind word for all. She was the best mother and wife and was devoted to her family. She will greatly be missed by all. She enjoyed reading and especially loved trips back to County Tyrone to visit relatives. Kathleen is survived by her daughter, Maureen, her son, Kevin and his wife, Kathy, and grandsons, Joe and his wife, Jenna, and Jason as well as many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends here and in Ireland. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Dominick Battle, in March 2015. Family and friends are welcome to gather on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 from 10am -12 pm at Burroughs, Kohr & Funeral Home, 106 Main St., Madison, NJ 07940 with a funeral service held at noon. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in memory of Kathleen may be made to the Florham Park First Aid Squad, 60 Felch Road, Florham Park, NJ 07932.
