Obituary of John S Lapko

John Stephen Lapko, 86, passed away on November 3, 2016 at Brighton Gardens Assisted Living, Florham Park, NJ. He was born in Carteret, NJ and lived in Morristown for the past 56 years. John graduated from Carteret High School in 1948. He served in United States Air Force as a Staff Sergeant during the Korean War. He worked at Greystone Psychiatric Hospital for 31 years as a Master Locksmith. John retired in 1993, but was asked to come back on a part time basis and worked until May 2016. John was a member of the English Morristown Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses for over 55 years and belonged to Origami, USA, a society devoted to the art of origami. John is survived by his wife, Verna (Jones) Lapko. He was predeceased by his sister, Yolanda. Family and friends are welcome to gather on Friday, November 11, 2016, at 7:30 pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 220 Dover Chester Road, Randolph, NJ 07869.
