Hazel P. Tauber, 92, of Madison, N.J., passed away at home suddenly on Dec. 30, 2016. Born in Irvington, N.J., Hazel resided in East Orange, N.J., before moving to Madison 64 years ago. A gathering of friends and family will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2017, from 4 to 7 p.m., with a Funeral Service at 7 p.m., at Burroughs, Kohr & Dangler Funeral Home, 106 Main Street, Madison, N.J. Interment will be on Thursday, Jan. 5, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union, N.J. Hazel worked at Crum & Foster for many years. Following her career at Crum & Foster, she retired from The Seeing Eye in Morristown and the Madison Area YMCA. Being a social person with a caring heart, Hazel enjoyed working at both of these places. She enjoyed all of the special puppies and dogs that helped people while working at The Seeing Eye, and cherished meeting all of the nice people at the Madison Area YMCA. Hazel is survived by her devoted children, Diane C. Zsombik and her husband, Joseph, of Madison, N.J. , and Christopher W. Tauber and his wife, Maureen, of Lebanon, N.J. She is also survived by her cherished nephews and nieces, Edwin Erskine and his wife, Faye, Ernest Erskine and his wife, Carole, and Michelle Erskine. Hazel was predeceased by her husband, Warren T. Tauber; her sister, Caroline Erskine, and her nephew, Robert Erskine. Hazel loved her children and her home, as well as all the wonderful people in her neighborhood. Donations to The Seeing Eye, www.seeingeye.org, in her memory would be appreciated.
