Obituary of James Richard Altschul

James Altschul, 76, of Morris Plains, NJ passed away on February 13, 2017. Born in Brooklyn, NY, James resided in Oceanside, NY, before moving to Morris Plains two-and-a-half years ago. James graduated from Lawrence High School in Lawrence, NY, in 1958, and from the University of Buffalo in 1962. He was a member of Temple Israel in Lawrence, NY. James is survived by his sons, Jerome Altschul, of Morris Plains, and David Altschul, of San Francisco, CA. He is also survived by his sister, Helene Reisler, of Washington, DC; his grandchildren, Thalia, Jacob, and Ava; his nieces, Julie and Emily, and his former wives, Adina Altschul and Sue Altschul. A Funeral Service for James will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at 10:00am at Dangler Funeral Home, 600 Speedwell Avenue, Morris Plains, NJ. Interment to follow at Maimonides Cemetery, Brooklyn, NY. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations in memory of James may be made to: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (www.stjude.org).
