Obituary of Tessie Mouyios

Tessie Mouyios, 93, of Morris Township passed away on March 19, 2017 after a short illness. Tessie was a life-long resident of Morris Township. She worked in the Banking industry for many years. Her career included working for American Home Foods, American Bank & Trust, and as a Customer Service Rep for Horizon Bank in Madison until she retired in 1988. Tessie was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Westfield and the Ladies Philoptochos of Holy Trinity. Before joining Holy Trinity she was a member of SS Constantine & Helen Church in Orange where she taught Sunday School for over 30 years. She was also an active member of the Morris Township Senior Citizens Club. Tessie is survived by her dear sister, Katherine Verenes; her devoted niece, Ellen Hickman, and her husband, James; her beloved nephew, Peter Verenes, and his wife, Phyllis. She is also survived by her seven cherished great-nieces and nephews; and two adored great-great niece and nephew. Tessie was predeceased by her sister, Sophie Sorrentino and husband Jerry and her brother, Theodore Mouyios and wife Patricia . Family and friends are welcome to gather on Thursday, March 23, 2017 from 4-8 pm at Burroughs, Kohr & Dangler Funeral Home, 106 Main Street, Madison. A Funeral Service for Tessie will be held on Friday, March 24, 2017 at 11:00 am at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 250 Gallows Hill Road, Westfield. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Morristown.
