Obituary of E. Jeanne M. Sinclair

~~Esther “Jeanne” Sinclair, 93, passed away peacefully on 8/27/17 at the Hospice Unit (Simon Floor),
Morristown Medical Center, Morristown, New Jersey following a stroke suffered on August 23.  Jeanne was a 66 year resident of Morris Plains.  She was born 6/13/24 and grew up in Oxford, Ohio.  Jeanne received a B.A. degree (Phi Beta Kappa) from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio and a M.A. degree in early education from Columbia University.  Jeanne met her husband Robert Sinclair at Columbia University and they were married 7/31/48. 

Jeanne was a kindergarten teacher for 2 years at George Washington School in Morristown.  Then she became a homemaker. 

Jeanne is predeceased by her husband of 69 years, Robert, who passed away 8/6/17.  She is survived by her sons Richard (Suffern, NY), Mark (Virginia) and Todd (Morris Plains, NJ), her grandchildren Eric (Arlington, VA) and Scott (New York City). 

Jeanne served 18,416 hours as a Volunteer at Morristown Medical Center and her name appears on the hospital's Volunteers Service plaque.  She was an active member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Morris Plains.  Her interests included opera attendance, listening to classical music, attending Broadway shows, dining in New York City and sailing while living on Kwajalein, Marshall Islands (1967-68).  Jeanne and Bob traveled extensively to Europe (primarily France) and Asia.  They enjoyed vacationing in Ogunquit, Maine. 

The family would like to thank the Hospice Team at Morristown Medical Center for their professional care and compassion. 

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 31, 2017, from 5-8 PM at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 29 Hillview Avenue, Morris Plains, NJ 07950.  A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, September 1, 2017, at 10:30 AM at St. Paul's Episcopal Church.  Interment of ashes will be in St. Paul's Memorial Garden.
