Obituary of Thomas Michael Hadley

Thomas Michael Hadley Husband, father, grandfather. He was devoted to community, family and his God. Thomas Michael Hadley, 78, of Dataw Island, SC, formerly of Florham Park, NJ, passed away Tuesday, August 4th at home with his loving wife, Geri, by his side. A mass will be celebrated on Monday, August 10, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Church, 1 Lloyd Ave., Florham Park, NJ 07932. Visiting will be on Sunday from 2 – 4 p.m. and 7 – 9 p.m. at Burroughs, Kohr & Dangler Funeral Home, 106 Main Street, Madison, NJ 07940. Tom was born in Cincinnati, OH. He graduated from Syracuse University. He married the love of his life Geri in 1961. They wed in Germany where Tom was serving in the Air Force. He was President and Owner of Hadley Associates, an Executive Search and Recruitment Firm that was based in Florham Park, NJ. Tom was devoted to service. He immersed himself into various community and civic organizations; and made both short and long-term impacts. For the Borough of Florham Park alone, he was a member of the Borough Council for 4 terms and for serving as Council President for 2 of those years. He was also an active member of the Florham Park Memorial First Aid Squad for over 7 years serving as President for 3 of those years; and a member of the Auxiliary after active service. He served as the General Chairman of the Florham Park July 4th Celebration Committee for more than 24 years; and most notably was recognized and admired as “Uncle Sam” traveling through the Parade year after year. He was also a member of the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick of Morris County; Knights of Columbus, the Church of Holy Family and the Advisory Board of the Academy of Saint Elizabeth – volunteering and contributing his time and energy to the many events these organizations held over time. Tom is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Geraldine Hadley; his son Michael and wife Lorraine and their son Ryan; his daughter Kathleen Connors and husband James and their children Jake and Lauren; his son Thomas and wife Susan and their daughters Alexandra, Julia, Fiona and Ciara.
