Obituary of Edward T Quinn, Jr.

Edward T. Quinn, Jr., 89, formerly of Morris Township, NJ, more recently of Naples, Florida, passed away surrounded by his loving family on October 15, 2015. Born in Albany, NY, Edward resided in Morris Township for 47 years before moving to Naples, Florida. Edward graduated from Albany Public High School. He had to leave school to go to war, but received his HS diploma upon his return from service. He proudly served his country for two years in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Edward worked as Director of Construction for F.W. Woolworth Company in New York for 40 years, before retiring in 1991. Edward was a member of the American Legion, Elks Club, VFW Post #3401 (Past Commander), and sat on the Board of the Aging & Disability of Morris County. Edward is survived by his devoted and loving daughters, Shelly Zimmerman, and her husband, Matthew, of Morris Plains, NJ, and Edwina Soisson, and her husband, Donald, of Blairstown, NJ. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Melissa Zimmerman, Colin Soisson, and Connor Soisson. Edward was predeceased by his beloved wife, Gretchen Quinn, in 2013. Visiting will be on Monday, October 19, 2015 from 4-6:30pm, with a Funeral Service at 6:30pm, at Dangler Funeral Home, 600 Speedwell Avenue, Morris Plains, NJ. Interment will take place on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at Noon at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery, West Albany, NY. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations in memory of Edward can be made to: VFW Post 3401, Morris Plains, NJ, or the Morris Minutemen, Morris Plains, NJ.
