Obituary of Margaret Melvin

Margaret “Peggy” Melvin, 76, of Daleville, VA, formerly of Madison, NJ, died Saturday, November 14, 2015 at The Glebe in Virginia following a long illness. Peggy was born September 5, 1939 in Morristown, NJ and lived in Madison, NJ before moving to Daleville, VA in 2006. She was the daughter of the late Richard and Agnes Dunne Myers. Peggy was a registered nurse and worked for the Sisters of Charity at St. Anne Villa for many years. She was a member of St. Vincent Martyr Church in Madison, NJ and was a member of Church of the Transfiguration Catholic Church in Fincastle, VA. In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her husband Henry D. Melvin, son Henry D. Melvin, Jr., brother Henry “Harry” Myers, sons-in-law Benjamin Stickler and Matthew DiGiaimo. She is survived by her daughters Mary Stickler of Fincastle, VA, Maureen DiGiaimo of Freehold, NJ, and Bridget Melvin of Roanoke, VA; grandchildren Benjamin (Hillary) Stickler, Daniel Stickler, Noah Stickler, Ethan Stickler, and Margaret “Maggie” Stickler; brothers and sisters-in-law Richard and Muriel Myers of Morristown, NJ, Joseph and Nancy Myers of Morris Plains, NJ; sister Gertrude Nodoro of Morristown, NJ; and sister-in-law Angela Myers of Long Valley, NJ. Family and friends are welcome to gather on Friday, November 20, 2015 from 2-4pm & 7-9pm at Burroughs, Kohr & Dangler Funeral Home, 106 Main Street, Madison, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 10:00am at St. Vincent Martyr Church, 26 Green Village Road, Madison, NJ. Interment will follow at St. Vincent’s Cemetery, Madison, NJ. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.
