Ron was very kind to Nancy's friends. I will never forget his driving me from Boston to New York in the middle of a blizzard. It was January 1978 and the snow was piling up so high in Massachusetts that Governor Dukakis said he was deciding whether or not to shut down all the roads except for emergency vehicles. Ron knew that I had to get to New York to start my MBA program and he knew that my “60something” father was planning on driving me there. He called me and insisted that he would drive me. The trip was too dangerous for an “elderly” (!) man to handle. We loaded up his car with all my stuff and managed to get out of Massachusetts just in time. This event attests to both his driving capability and his considerate and thoughtful nature when it came to Nancy’s friends."
I also appreciate how thoughtful he was with Nancy's and my close friend Roberta. Roberta suffered from emphysema and died 2 years ago. Ron, whose health was also declining ,went through many boxes of financial /tax information to straighten out her accounts when she was in assisted living, He also drove her home to Brooklyn from events in Manhattan and drove Nancy and their dog Bear to Roberta's assisted living to celebrate her birthday.
We will miss you, Ron. May you rest in peace.
