Andrew “Andy, Red” Prehart, 89, formerly of Wayne, New Jersey passed away on June 17, 2016 in Morris Plains, New Jersey. Visiting will be held Thursday, June 23, 2016 from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at Dangler Funeral Home, 600 Speedwell Avenue, (at Glenbrook Road), Morris Plains, New Jersey. A funeral mass will follow with Reverend Przemyslaw Nowak of The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 94 Maple Avenue, Morristown, New Jersey. Burial will then follow at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum, 225 Ridgedale Avenue, East Hanover, New Jersey. Born in Garfield, New Jersey on December 6, 1926, Andy was married to his wife the late Cecelia Prehart on September 22, 1950 and they resided in Wayne, New Jersey for 52 years before moving to Sunrise Assisted Living in Morris Plains, New Jersey. Andy proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII, for which he received the Army of Occupational, Asia Tickets Pacific Campaign, and WWII Victory medals. Andy worked at Curtiss Wright Corporation then at Faber Brothers Broodloom, Haledon, New Jersey for approximately 34 years. Andy always loved being with his family, especially his grandchildren, and enjoyed his backyard and gardening, especially growing his tomato plants. Andy is survived by his two devoted daughters Donna and Sandy and his son-in-law Fred. Andy is also survived by his cherished grandchildren Max, Tyler, Kristin and Danielle.
