Roland F. Lake of Whippany, NJ, passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2020 at Morristown Memorial Hospital. He was 84 years old. Born and raised in Brooklyn, N.Y. he lived in White Meadow Lake, NJ and Whippany, NJ. He was a retired programmer and draftsman for Bell Laboratories and BellCore for many years and had spent several years working for them on Kwajalein in the Marshall Islands. He loved traveling, woodworking and just spending time with his family. Most recently he enjoyed following his favorite teams the Jets and the Mets, and could often be found on his front porch listening to the games. Roland is predeceased by his wife, Eleanor Lake (nee Juberg), his parents, Anna and Roland and his sister, Jacqueline Roesch. He is survived by his sister, Lucia Liebler and her family and his children, Mark and wife, Susan, of Towaco, NJ; John and wife, Maureen, of Towaco NJ, Michael and wife, Kathleen, of Cedar Rapids, IA, Paul and wife, Shruti, of Flanders, NJ, Robert and wife, Dana, of Cedar Knolls, NJ and Donna Wagner and husband, Michael, of Boonton, NJ. He was a loving grandfather to John, Annie and her husband, Eric, Jared, Tami, Genevieve, Mackenzie, Andrew, Sofia, Madeline, Charlie, Hannah, Marisa, Kyle, Gregory, Konner, Mariah, Malone and Melanie. He is also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. The Lake family is concerned about the well-being of those they love and care about. Funeral Services are private at this time.
