Pauline J. Hooper

Pauline Joan Hooper, 90, of Morris Plains, NJ, passed away peacefully at home on February 10, 2025.

Pauline was born in Bloomfield, and lived in Edison, prior to moving to Morris Plains 55 years ago.

Pauline graduated from Bloomfield High School. She worked as a Women’s Fragrance/Sales Manager for Macy’s in Ledgewood and Livingston until her retirement in 2013. She was also a parishioner of St. Virgil’s Church, Morris Plains.

Pauline is survived by her daughters, Karen Clayton (Jim), of Louisville, KY, Cheryl Mondello Higinbotham (Jon), of Chester, NJ, and Lynn Wrede (Tim), of Andover, NJ, and daughter-in-law- Janine Myer; as well as her sister, Betty Gerstenmaier of Pennsylvania. She is also survived by seven grandchildren:  Christopher Mondello, Grace Higinbotham (Joey), Tara Wojcik (Ross), Erin Clayton (Jon), Megan Gallo (Gerry), Kelly Mangold (Bart), Shawn Westra (Jordan), Andrew Wrede (Jenni) and seven great-grandchildren: Ella Clayton, Anni-Rey and Robey Gallo, Cece Mangold, Kamden Higinbotham, Jaxon Wrede, Cooper Wrede; and four nieces and two nephews.

In addition to her parents, John B. and Caroline Peterkin, Pauline was predeceased by her husband, John F. Hooper, in 2016; her daughter, Denise Hooper; and her son, John F. Hooper.

Family and friends are welcome to gather on Monday, February 17, 2025, from 2-4 pm at Dangler Funeral Home, 600 Speedwell Ave., Morris Plains, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at 10:00am at St. Virgil’s Church, Morris Plains, NJ. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, NJ.
