John H. Barry of Morris Township, NJ died September 29, 2015. He was born in Easton, Pennsylvania in 1916. Mr. Barry, a Certified Public Accountant, was a long time resident of Madison and a member of St. Vincent Martyr Church. He retired from the Mobil Oil Corporation in 1981 where he was the General Auditor. He graduated from Lehigh University in 1938. For many years, he was a member of the Madison (NJ) Golf Club and the Quechee Club in Quechee, Vermont. During World War II, Mr. Barry was a First Lieutenant in the 759 Light Tank Battalion, serving in five campaigns in the European Theater of Operations. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal. He leaves his wife, Barbara; daughter, Nancy Bruce and her husband Larry of Madison, NJ ; son William and his wife Mary Joe of Carlsbad, CA; son John and his wife Karen of Burlington, VT; and grandchildren Katharine Bruce, Matthew, Kelsey, Margaret Barry and Kevin and Christopher Barry. A Funeral Mass will be at St. Vincent Martyr Church, 26 Green Village Road, Madison, NJ on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at 10:00am. Interment will follow. In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions can be sent to Madison Public Library, 39 Keep Street, Madison, NJ 07940 or to St. Vincent Martyr Building Fund – “ Partners In Faith”, 26 Green Village Road, Madison, NJ 07940.
