Obituary of Irene T. Sacks

Irene Sacks, age 96, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at Arbor Terrace in Morris Plains, New Jersey.

She was a graduate of Immaculata High School and attended Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario. She was married to Dr. William Sacks on August 2 1952, in Ottawa, Ontario. nd , Irene was the Science Curator at Morris Museum of Arts and Sciences, Physics Department Assistant at Drew University, Legal Technician at Chubb Insurance Company, and Program Coordinator for the Plastics Institute of America. Irene was a volunteer member of the Long Hill First Aid Squad and the Morriston Memorial Hospital Mobile Intensive Care Unit since 1972. She has received numerous awards for exemplary and meritorious service, and excellence in emergency medical services. She was a member of the American Red Cross and provided volunteer support for Katrina and California wildfire disaster relief efforts.  Irene travelled world-wide to numerous countries in Europe, South America, Asia, Africa, Australia and Antarctica.

Irene is survived by her daughters Judith (Gerry), Elaine (Steve), and Patricia (Joe), son David (Janice), and granddaughters Christine (Chris) and Emily (Dave).

The family would like to express thanks to the wonderful help and care given by the Long Hill Township Police Department, Long Hill Township First Aid Squad, The Key, Touching Hearts, Atlantic Private Care, Arbor Terrace of Morris Plains, and Ennoble Care. . Celebration of life and burial services to be announced.
