Obituary of Webb Linzmayer
Webb Linzmayer passed away peacefully at Morristown Medical Center on Saturday March 1st 2025.
Webb was born in Long Branch, New Jersey in 1940 and was raised in Atlantic Highlands. Soon after graduating from NYU with a BS in Physics in 1963, he married Irene Thompson and started a family. Webb worked for Bell Labs, EAI, and Sweda as a computer programmer before starting his own company, Electrovalue Industrial, specializing in integrating mainframe computers’ 9-track tape drives with personal computers at the beginning of the PC industry. He retired in 2000.
Webb had a gift for foreign languages, an appetite for spicy cuisines, and a love of traveling the world with his friends and family. He was passionate about all things technical, especially radio electronics, “phone phreaking,” and computers. He also enjoyed making creative mischief with his long-time friends.
He was predeceased by his wife Irene and is survived by his children Neil, Owen, Jill, and Gail; along with seven grandchildren, Matt, Cara, Robin, Neil, Griffin, Grayson, and Gibson; and two sisters, Nancy and Kathy.
In lieu of sending flowers or food, donations may be made in Webb’s name to the Mount Pleasant Animal Shelter, (973) 386-0590, https://njshelter.org.
