Obituary of Louise Marie Spirig

Please share a memory of Louise to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Louise Spirig, 77, of Morris Plains, NJ, passed away after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease on March 19, 2025.

Born in Perth Amboy, NJ, Louise attended Woodbridge Senior High School and College Misericordia.  Louise loved to volunteer in her community, and over the years dedicated time to service of the blind, the Morris Plains Home and School Association, the Delbarton Mother's Guild, and the eucharistic ministries of both Morristown Medical Center and St. Virgil's Church.  She also enjoyed careers in telecommunication sales, floral design, and medical office management, retiring in 2015 as the OR Manager for Atlantic Neurosurgery Specialists.

Louise enjoyed her retirement because it gave her more time to spend with friends and family, especially her grandchildren.  She spent many happy days caring for them as babies, walking them through Lewis Morris Park, creating crafts for them to do in the playroom that she built, and always lovingly spoiling them with treats and treasures.

Louise is survived by her devoted sons David Spirig and John Spirig, John's dear wife Lauren Spirig, and beloved grandchildren Luke Spirig and Zoey Spirig.  She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 51 years Ronald Spirig, her parents Anthony Santucci and Beulah Santucci, and her brothers Anthony Santucci, Jr. and Domenick Santucci.

Family and friends are welcome to gather on Thursday, March 20, from 5-7 p.m. at Dangler Funeral Home, 600 Speedwell Avenue, Morris Plains.  A Funeral Mass will follow at 10 a.m. at St. Virgil's Church, 250 Speedwell Avenue, Morris Plains.  An entombment ceremony at Holy Rood Mausoleum, Morris Township, will follow the mass.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Louise's memory may be made to the The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research (https://give.michaeljfox.org/give/421686/#!/donation/checkout).
