Obituary of Carol S. Miller
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Carol Miller, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished friend. Carol passed away peacefully, on March 20th leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and unwavering devotion to her family.
Born and raised in Jersey City, Carol graduated from Snyder High School in Jersey City. She resided in Morris Township for the past 55 years.
Carol was a loving mother to six children, and her life was filled with the joy of supporting each one in their individual pursuits. Whether it was sitting on the sidelines of soccer fields, softball games, dance classes, or gymnastic meets, Carol was always present—offering quiet yet steadfast encouragement. Her children were her world, and she gave everything to ensure they knew they were loved and supported.
Her love didn’t stop with her children. Carol's pride and joy were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and she showered them with affection, wisdom, and a warm smile. Her happiest moments were spent with her growing family, especially during summers at the Jersey Shore. The days spent enjoying the beauty of the shore, taking walks on the boardwalk with Herb, and creating memories with those she loved were some of her most treasured moments.
In recent years, Carol found peace and contentment sitting on the back porch of their shore house, watching the water and boats pass by—a quiet reminder of the life and love she helped build. She was happiest when surrounded by her family, whether at the shore or at home.
Carol was also passionate about creativity. She was an avid crocheter, creating beautiful afghans for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her love for arts and crafts extended to embroidery, sewing, and many other projects. A long-time member of the Morris Township Sewing Class, Carol's creativity was only matched by the warmth and care she poured into everything she made for her family.
Travel was another joy in Carol's life. She enjoyed adventures with senior citizens, family, friends, and with Herb. Whether it was a weekend getaway, or a trip with friends, Carol loved seeing new places and making memories along the way.
Carol's presence brought comfort, strength, and joy to all who knew her. Her family was truly her greatest pride, and she leaves behind a legacy of love, joy, and kindness that will be forever cherished. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family, in the warmth of the shore she loved, and in the many memories she leaves behind.
Carol is survived by her devoted children, Marilyn Miller-O'Melia (John O'Melia) of Basking Ridge, NJ, Kathleen White (Jerry White) of Roswell, GA, Richard Miller (Susan Angell) of Flanders, NJ, Dolores Houser (Philip Houser) of Morris Township, NJ, Barbara Miller (Jeff Cromie) of Morris Township, NJ, and Theresa Vinci (Michael Vinci) of Easton, PA. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Kate O'Melia and Mike Alves, Doug and Emily O'Melia, Erin White and Garrett Rowe, Matt and Nicole White, Jennifer and Richie Addesso, Kevin and Tayler Miller, Lauren Miller, Ryan Houser, Sarah Houser and Mikey Brooks, Kelsey Cromie and Jordan Lorenz, Thomas Cromie and Merdith McGill, Michael and Chelsea Vinci, and Shannon Vinci; as well as her adored great-grandchildren, Leyna Vinci, Blake Addesso, Louie White, and Daisy Miller, and numerous nieces, nephews, and their exteded families.
