Obituary of Patrick W. Luciano

Please share a memory of Patrick to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Patrick W. Luciano, a lifelong resident of Madison, NJ, passed away on April 12, 2025, at the age of 87. He was a beloved husband, father, and friend who lived a vibrant and full life.

Patrick faced a three-year journey with dementia, compounded by complications from COVID and heart disease. He was deeply loved by his family and all who knew him.

His warmth, humor, and generous spirit will be missed beyond measure.

Pat grew up downtown working for his father Patsy at Luciano’s Butcher and Market. He went to Madison High School, where he excelled in Baseball, Basketball and Football.  After graduating from Montclair State College, Patrick began his career as a football and basketball coach for Morris Catholic High School and then Dover.  In those capacities, he led the teams to conference titles. He then operated the clothing store called The Locker Room on Main Street with his brother Sal. After many years there, he ventured into residential real estate, sanitation service sales and assistant coaching roles.  The coaching roles took him to Chatham HS, Delbarton, Mountain Lakes and Drew University. In addition to being a wonderful family man celebrating every event together, he enjoyed golf, racquetball, playing cards, and horseback riding

He was predeceased by his parents Patsy and Hazel, his brother Sal, and his sister Mary Beaman. He leaves behind his wife Eileen and their children Patrick, Andrea (Andi) and Matthew, who have eight children.  The grandchildren from Patrick and his wife Erin are Christian, William and Nicholas.  Andrea and Peter Fine's children are twins Lucy and Jake, followed by Miles. Matthew has Gianluca and Stella.

Eileen’s patience and positive energy kept Pat on track, and she will continue to watch over the brood and host the kids and grandchildren when they come to town.

Arrangements were under the care of Burroughs, Kohr & Dangler Funeral Home, Madison, NJ.
