Obituary of Clementina Silos

Please share a memory of Clementina to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Clementina Silos aged 90 years passed away at her daughter’s home in Florham Park, NJ on April 13, 2025.

Clementina was born January 20, 1935, the eldest child of Mario Lluria y Bonet and Clementina Lluria Y Revilla of Havana, Cuba.

She is survived by her children and spouses: George E. Silos and Francesca (Francie), Irene Silos and April Keenan, Stephanie Badalamenti and Salvatore, and Philip Silos and partner Jennifer Griola; her grandchildren Phoebe Silos, Christian Silos, Francesca Badalamenti and Gabriela Badalamenti, Sarah Griola and Landen Griola; her brother Mario Lluria, and nieces and nephew: Teresita Farkas, Maria Cecilia Gossler, Mario Lluria Jr, and Mimi Prevatt.

Clementina was highly intelligent and had a great memory. Though visually impaired in later years she was an avid reader of books and listener of audio books as well as keeping up with national and global news. She was a great cook, hostess, good listener, diplomatic and was involved in the lives of her children and grandchildren. She loved to spend time with family on holidays and birthdays. She was both a good friend and mother to her children and their spouses. Clementina maintained several long-term close friendships with colleagues from work, parents of friends of her children and church parishioners.

Clementina left Cuba in 1958 at the urging of her parents knowing what was to come. She worked at National Airlines until she married in 1959. She raised her four children, was the PTA president for the regional high school, supported the family business as the financial manager and volunteered for activities at the Lutheran church. After her divorce, she continued to work full time in various roles and then part-time as a language instructor for Inlingua, in Summit, NJ.

Those who wish to honor her life can make a donation in her memory to either:

A Viewing will be held at Burroughs, Kohr & Dangler Funeral Home, 106 Main St. (at Greenwood Ave) in Madison, NJ on Thursday, April 17, 2025 from 12:30pm-2:30pm and 4:30pm-6:30pm, with a Funeral Service at 5:00pm, at the Funeral Home.
