Elayne Susan Herrick Obituary

November 15, 1942 – May 5, 2025

Elayne Susan Herrick (née Forman), of Mendham, NJ and Boca Raton, FL passed away peacefully on May 5th, 2025 at the age of 82.

Born in Brooklyn, NY on November 15th, 1942, Elayne was the eldest of three children of Eva and Harry Forman. She grew up in Queens, where she formed lifelong friendships and developed the fierce spirit, quick wit, and loving heart that would define her life.

After losing both parents as a teenager, she and her siblings were lovingly raised by her Aunt Tannie and Uncle Moe in New Jersey. 

In 1964, Elayne married the love of her life, Norton Herrick. Together, they raised three sons — Howard, Michael, and Evan — and built a life full of laughter, devotion, and unconditional love.

Known for her timeless beauty, warmth, humor, and style, Elayne was the heart of her family and a beloved friend to many. She was often called the “coolest mom around” and never lost her youthful spirit. She derived much joy from their 2lb Toy Pomeranian, Chloe and cat, Sidney.

Elayne is survived by her husband Norton, who was a dedicated caregiver to Elayne when her health declined over the last 5 years.; sons Howard, Michael, and Evan; daughters-in-law Kristi, Laura, and Carole; five grandchildren — Kayla, Miles, Jake, Morgan, and Sydney; sister Betty Sutta; brother Marty Forman; and many dear friends and extended family.
