Obituary of Carol & Gerald Bischoff

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved parents, Carol and Gerald Bischoff.
Carol, nee Walker was born on June 4, 1948 to George and Cecilia Walker, nee Wojcik, of Scotch Plains, NJ. Carol attended Union Catholic High School in Scotch Plains, NJ, where she was a member of the twirling team. She went on to attend All Souls Hospital School of Nursing, where she earned her nursing degree. Carol worked as a registered nurse for over 30 years, during which time she met her husband, Jerry.
Jerry was born on June 15, 1939 to Robert and Mary Bischoff, nee Mulvaney, of Morristown, NJ. Growing up, Jerry spent his summers on Belgrade Lakes in Maine, boating and fishing with his family. He attended Seton Hall Preparatory School in West Orange, NJ and went on to study finance at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. Jerry joined the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War from 1967-1969. Upon his return from service, Jerry worked for many years in the New York City financial district. It was during this time that he met and fell in love with his beloved wife, Carol.
Carol and Jerry spent 55 beautiful years together, raising their 3 children, Mary Wear, nee Bischoff, and her husband Doug of Mendham, NJ, Alison Gallagher, nee Bischoff and her husband Robert of Potomac, MD and Gerald Bischoff II of Mendham, NJ.
In their free time they enjoyed gardening and socializing with friends. But, most of all, they treasured spending time with their 5 beloved grandchildren, Sean and Camryn Wear and Timothy, Matthew and Grace Gallagher.
Carol passed away peacefully on Sunday June 15, 2025, followed closely by the death of Jerry on Monday June 16, 2025. Leaving this world together proves that true love endures all things.
