Obituary of Verna L. Imming

Verna L. Imming, 67, of Morris Plains passed away on June 19, 2025 at home with her loving family by her side.

Born in Passaic, N.J., she was the daughter of the late Verna and William Sullivan. Verna was raised and lived her entire life in Morris Plains.

She is survived by her loving husband of 31 years, Barry Imming, and her siblings, Greg Sullivan and his wife, Rita, Karen Gilmore, and Pam Sullivan and her husband Jerry. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Mary Jane Martin, and her nieces and nephews, Greg Sullivan, Julia Kiernan, Laura Gilmore Young, Erin Gilmore, Briana Gilmore, Gary Kolb and Mark Kolb. Also surviving are Verna’s sister-in-law Diane Del Palazzo, and brother-in-law Daniel Imming, his wife Deborah and their children; Arianna Lavallee Morgan, Frank Del Palazzo, Sarah Imming and Emily Zudons.

Verna was predeceased by her beloved daughter, Lara, and her brother, Bruce.

Verna earned her B.A. degree in Marketing from Farleigh Dickinson University in 1980. She worked in Marketing/Consumer Relations for Nabisco/Kraft in East Hanover for 26 years; before retiring in 2016.

Verna’s happiness revolved around spending time with her family, friends and much-loved dogs; gardening, baking, bird watching and vacationing at the Jersey Shore.
