Obituary of Hollyann Traetto

HollyAnn Christina Traetto Mendez, of Morris Plains, NJ, passed away on June 19th, 2025. She was 59 years old.

Born in Morristown, NJ, on January 31st, 1966, Holly resided in Morris Plains for the majority of her life, where she was a fixture in her community. She graduated from Morristown High School in 1984 and earned her bachelor’s degree in economics from Montclair State College in 1989. She worked as a premium auditor for over 25 years. 

Holly was known by those who loved her as an excellent cook and gardener, and she especially loved cooking Italian food for family gatherings. She enjoyed walking, and she loved Christmas so much that she left her decorations up all year. As the baby of five siblings, she was known for her youthful energy and fierce love for her family. 

Holly is survived by her beloved husband, Juan Mendez, and her beautiful daughter, Isabella Mendez, of Morris Plains, NJ. She is also survived by her sweet parents, Arlina Sharpe Traetto and Angelo Charles Traetto of Chester, NJ; sister Arlina Traetto Osborne (m. Gary Osborne) of Morris Plains, NJ; brother Charles Stewart Traetto (m. Carol Lippincott) of Rockford, AL, sister Janice Traetto Prandato (m. Thomas Prandato) of Alpharetta, GA; sister Joanne Elizabeth Traetto (m. Diane Lodrago) of Morris Plains, NJ; nine nieces and nephews; twenty great-nieces and nephews; and one living aunt, Carolyn Sharpe Murray.

She is preceded in death by her beloved son, Jason Michael Mendez. 

Visitation for Holly will be on Thursday, June 26th, 2025 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 AM at Dangler Funeral Home, 600 Speedwell Ave, Morris Plains.
