When we were growing up, we spent many holidays together with the Weigands at Uncle Bob's home. I remember having competitive basketball games in the backyard with Uncle Bob in the middle. Rest in Peace, Uncle Bob, what an incredible life you had.

When Robert and Maryelyn visited us in Minnesota in 2004, we had a windstorm that pushed over a mighty cottonwood with a 3 ft diameter trunk. The neighbors showed up with chainsaws and tractors. 79 year old Robert happily manned a chainsaw. His daughter Marylou shouted at me from the kitchen window, "Take that saw away from Dad!" I shouted back, " I'm not going near that saw! You come take it away!" Bob was in his element. He sawed for over an hour. We sat on the downed and pruned trunk and drank beer with the neighbors and had a great time.

Dad tracked and often asked about our children (his step grandchildren) and their families: Tim, Vicky and daughters Grace and Elise; Jennifer, Eric and daughters Liv and Anni; Rebecca, Mark and daughters Mai and Matsue. He loved sharing stories of Ireland with his grandson Patrick.

Mr Weigand was a wonderful asset to the youth of Florham Park. An impactful Boy Scout leader, extremely knowledgeable and just a good person and neighbor. We lost another person who helped make Florham Park a great town to grow up in. Prayers for the family. Thank you and RIP!
