Obituary of Edward F. Duffy, Jr.

Edward F. Duffy, Jr., 87, passed away on July 7, 2025. He was a life-long resident of Morris Plains.

Edward graduated from Morristown High School in 1956. He served his country in the Army Reserves for six years (1958-1964). 

Edward worked as a Lineman Supervisor for JCP&L for 39 years, until he retired in 1994.

In his spare time, Edward was a parishioner of St. Virgil’s Parish in Morris Plains.

Edward was also a proud member and past Battalion Chief, Captain and Lieutenant of the Fairchild Fire Company and the Morris Township Fire Dept. for 64 years.

Edward is survived by his loving wife, Joan S. Duffy; and his devoted children, William Duffy, and his wife, Heather, of Morris Township, Robert Duffy, and his wife, Trudi, of Morris Township, and Elizabeth McGuiness, and her husband, Mark, of Morris Township. He is also survived by his adored grandchildren, Meghan, Charlie, Edward, Owen, William, Nicholas, Katie and Sara.

Family and friends are welcome to gather on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 from 4-7pm at Dangler Funeral Home, 600 Speedwell Avenue, Morris Plains. (*A steady flow throughout the Funeral Home will allow all guests time to share their condolences.*) A Funeral Service for Edward will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2025 at 11:00am at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Holy Rood Cemetery, Morristown.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Edward may be made to: Fairchild Fire Company (2 Burnham Road, Morris Plains, NJ 07950).
