Obituary of Francis X. Kreitler, Jr.

Please share a memory of Francis to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

A life well-lived, Francis X Kreitler Jr., beloved husband and father, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2025, surrounded by his family, at the age of 73.

Frank is survived by his wife, Patricia Kreitler, daughter Tara and son Jonathan. He is also survived by his father Frank Sr, brother Tom and his wife Patrice, sister Jane and her husband Grant, sister Sue and her husband Jim and sister Diane and her partner Dennis. He is also survived by dear cousins, nieces, nephews and many special friends who hold his memory close to their hearts. He is pre-deceased by his mother Martha and brothers Bill and Bob.

Born in New York City, Frank was raised in Florham Park with his 6 siblings, attended Holy Family School and Church and graduated from Oratory Prep in Summit. After high school, Frank pursued a career in HVAC and boiler operation.

Frank married his wife, Patti in 1977, settled in Harding Twp. and raised their family there. He enjoyed a meaningful career in building and facility maintenance and forged many strong business relationships, several of which became lasting friendships. Most recently he was employed by MLB Network in Secaucus as a Sr. Facilities Manager. He retired from that position in 2019.

Frank enjoyed trips to Arizona, baseball, volunteering and playing golf. His membership at Fox Hollow Golf Club brought him a sense of community and the camaraderie of a great group of golf friends. He was passionate in his opinions and loved nothing more than a good debate anywhere, anytime and about anything.

Frank was larger than life and made friends wherever he went. He proved “Friends are the Family that we Choose for Ourselves.” These special friends and family members lifted him up and supported him with perpetual love during his long and difficult health journey. Though our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in knowing that he lived a full and meaningful life, and that his spirit lives on in the lives he touched. His memory will forever be a blessing to those who loved him.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation for Frank on Monday, July 21, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Burroughs, Kohr and Dangler Funeral Home, 106 Main Street, Madison NJ.

A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Frank on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at 10:00 am at Church of Christ the King, 16 Blue Mill Road, New Vernon, NJ.

Interment will follow at St. Vincent’s Cemetery, Madison.

In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions may be made in Frank’s memory to the Oratory Fund or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital as a reflection of his commitment to helping others.
