Memorial Visitation
Inurnment of Ashes
Obituary of Hildegard Winz
Hilde Winz passed away peacefully at the age of 96. She was born in Krefeld, Germany, the only child of Peter and Hildegard Horst, who predeceased her.
Although she had no siblings, Hilde shared a close bond with her many cousins, especially Liselotte Sawh, who was like a sister to her.
In 1956, Hilde emigrated from Germany to New York with her husband, Frank. After a brief time in Summit, they settled in Florham Park, where she raised her family and lived for 39 years. In later years, she also resided in Three Bridges, Ridge Oak in Basking Ridge, and Livia in East Hanover.
Hilde had a passion for design and was a talented seamstress, creating clothes for family and friends. She also enjoyed tennis, traveling the world, and cherished time spent at the beach with her grandchildren.
She worked alongside her husband Frank in his construction supply business and later enjoyed a successful career as a real estate agent.
Hilde was predeceased by her beloved husband, Frank. She is survived by her devoted sons: Robert (New Zealand), Werner (North Carolina) and his wife Merilee, and Stefan (Florham Park) and his wife Janet. She was a loving and proud grandmother to Robyn, Cassie, Ryan, Billy, Timmy, and Luka.
Memorial Visitation will be on Thursday, July 31, 2025 from 10:00am-12:00pm at Burroughs, Kohr & Dangler Funeral Home, 106 Main Street, Madison, NJ. A Graveside Service and Inurnment of Ashes will follow at 12:30pm at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
