Obituary of Ret. Lt. Raymond S. DeBiasse, Sr.
Raymond S. DeBiasse Sr. was surrounded by his loving family when he was welcomed into eternal rest on Sunday, July 27th, 2025, at the age of 88. He was born in Morristown, New Jersey on September 1st, 1936, and was raised by his late parents, Philomena and Samuel DeBiasse. On September 1st, 1958, he married the love of his life, Margaret DeBiasse (nee DeLorenzo). The couple settled in Morristown where they raised their four children. They relocated to Manahawkin, New Jersey after he retired in 2007, and they shared 66 beautiful years of marriage. He was a beloved husband, father grandfather and great-grandfather, and he was blessed with six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
After graduating from Morristown High School, he enlisted in the US Armed Forces where he honorably served his country as a member of the United States Navy. In 1957 he left the military and dedicated his life to public service and law enforcement. He graduated from the County College of Morris with an Associate Degree, and continued his education pursuits attending Rutgers University.
He spent 25 years as an officer in the Morristown Police Department where he became a Detective and rose to the rank of Lieutenant. In his later years he continued his commitment to justice and community by working in the Morris County Court as a Senior Investigator, retiring in 2007. He was a proud Member of the Policeman’s Benevolent Association and The American Legion.
Ray enjoyed hunting, boating, spending time at the Jersey Shore, and above all, treasured time with his family. He lived life fully with gratitude and compassion.
Raymond is survived by his wife Margaret DeBiasse (nee DeLorenzo), his four children and their spouses Samuel and MaryAnn DeBiasse (nee Wrede), Sharon (nee DeBiasse) and Michael Schoenherr, Raymond and Dana DeBiasse, Jr. (nee Kruse), Scott and Carol DeBiasse (nee Manganelli). He is also survived by his grandchildren Nicholas and Danielle DeBiasse (nee Chuplis) and their 3 children; Joseph DeBiasse and his fiancé, Danielle Eftaxas; Anthony and Isabella DeBiasse and their 3 children; grandson Matthew DeBiasse; Christopher and Ashley DeBiasse (nee Pawelek) and their son; and granddaughter Kathleen DeBiasse. He is also survived by many nieces nephews, and cousins.
He will be deeply missed by his loving family who will forever cherish his memory, his wisdom, his boundless sense of humor, and his unwavering devotion.
Visitation will be held at Dangler Funeral Home, 600 Speedwell Ave., Morris Plains, NJ on Friday August 1st from 4PM-7PM; Funeral Mass will be held at St Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 61 Main Street, Flanders, NJ on Saturday August 2nd at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery Pleasant Hill Rd., Chester, NJ.
