Obituary of David W. Oakley

“Oakley here.”

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of David W. "Dave" Oakley, of Morristown, NJ, who died on August 3rd, 2025 at the age of 77. 

Dave Oakley was a beloved husband, father, uncle and friend.  He lived two lifetimes with a firm grip, a quick wit, and a soft heart.  Dave worked hard to provide a good life for his family and was very proud of his business, Oakley’s Automotive, that he built and ran for 40 years in Morristown NJ.  One of Dave’s favorite things in life were the many vacations across the country to see NASCAR races with his family and friends. 

Dave is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Kathleen (his "Old Lady"), son Thomas Oakley, son Michael Oakley and Daughter-in-law Trisha Lynn, niece Amanda DiBiase and family (the daughter he never had), the Strelec Family, the Lovenberg Family, brother-in-law Fr. Alfred Lampron, brother William Oakley, niece Karen Oakley, 3 estranged grandchildren that he loved, Cora, Lola and Cashel Oakley, his lifelong best friend Danko, and countless other family and friends that he loved very much. 

As Dave would say, “See you later, cuz!”

Memorial Visitation will be held on August 10, 2025 from 2:00PM - 5:00pm,with a Prayer Service at 4:30pm, at Dangler Funeral Home, 600 Speedwell Avenue, Morris Plains.
