Obituary of Karyn Ann Montano
Karyn Ann Montano (née Yorke), age 46, of Cedar Knolls, NJ, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2025 surrounded by the love of her family at Memorial Sloan Kettering in New York.
Karyn, born on August 10, 1978, was raised in East Hanover, NJ. She was the beloved daughter of Thomas M. Yorke and Carol A. Yorke (Bradenton, Florida) and the cherished younger sister of Brian Yorke (Garden City, New York).
Karyn was the devoted wife of Albert N. Montano and the proud, loving mother of her two children, Reece Taylor Montano and Nicholas “Cole” Montano, who were the absolute center of her world.
Karyn graduated from Hanover Park High School and went on to earn her degrees in Marketing, Operations Management, and Accounting from the University of Scranton.
Karyn was employed as a bookkeeper with Greenberg & Rapp in Morristown, NJ, where her attention to detail, reliability, and warmth earned the respect and admiration of her colleagues - many of whom would become dear friends.
Karyn was a ray of light and a source of comfort and strength for all who knew her. Her commitment to her family and friends was unmatched, and she will be remembered for her loyalty, generosity, and unwavering support. Whether offering a listening ear, sharing a laugh, providing thoughtful advice or lending a helping hand, Karyn had a gift for making others feel valued and loved.
She is survived by her husband Albert; her children Reece and Cole; her parents Thomas and Carol; her brother Brian (Nicole) Yorke; sisters-in-law Gloria (Wayne) Costigan, Michelle (Christopher) McGowan; her many beloved nieces and nephews, Isabella, William, Anna, Abigail, Brittany, Anthony, Matthew, Nicole, Riley, Katie, Emma and Jack; and her dear cousins, Floyd, Louis, Susan, James, Michael, Suzanne, and Christine.
Family and friends are invited to gather in her honor for visitation on August 13, 2025 between 5 pm–8 pm at Dangler Funeral Home, 600 Speedwell Avenue, Morris Plains, NJ. (*A steady flow throughout the Funeral Home will ensure every guest has time to pay their respects.*) A funeral mass will be held on August 14, 2025 at 10am at Notre Dame of Mount Carmel Church, 75 Ridgedale Avenue, Cedar Knolls, NJ.
