Obituary of Henry H. George, Jr.

Henry H. George, Jr., 91, passed away in New Providence on August 27, 2025. He was born in Buffalo, NY, and lived for the past 35 years in Madison, NJ.

Henry received his undergraduate degree from Lehigh University PA, and graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, NY, in 1960 with a PhD in Chemical Engineering. He worked for Celanese, Summit, NJ, until his retirement in 1985. He volunteered for 20 years as a member of the Madison Volunteer Ambulance Corp.

Henry is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Leyden and her husband, Brian, Vernon, CT., and his son, Geoffrey George and his wife, Jennifer, Brick, NJ. as well as his cherished grandchildren, Timothy Leyden, Katherine Leyden, Thomas George, and Jack George.

A Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 6,2025 from 2-4pm at Burroughs, Kohr & Dangler Funeral Home, 106 Main St., Madison, NJ. Interment of ashes will be held in Buffalo, NY, at a later date.
