Obituary of John Joseph Zmachinski
John Zmachinski, a devoted husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away after a life filled with love, dedication, and service.
John is survived by his beloved wife, Jill, his cherished sons, Daniel and Thomas, and his brother, Michael.
He dedicated 39 years of his career to the Morris County Park Commission, where his hard work and commitment left a lasting impact. In addition, John proudly served in the United States Coast Guard for 16 years, embodying honor and service to his country.
Sports were always a part of John’s life—he played baseball for many years and was an avid fan of the Yankees, Devils, and Giants. He found joy in simple pleasures such as fishing, playing the lottery, and especially watching Daniel and Thomas play hockey and baseball.
Family vacations to Atlantic City, Florida, and Williamsburg, Virginia, were among his happiest memories, creating moments of togetherness that will be treasured forever.
John will be remembered for his kindness, humor, and unwavering love for his family. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
A memorial service will be held on October 18, 2025, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Dangler Funeral Home in Morris Plains.
