Obituary of Hedy Gropper Starr

Hedy Gropper Starr, 81, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2025, in Boca Raton, FL.

Hedy was born to Harry and Helen Morchower. She graduated from the Gill School, in Bernardsville, NJ, and the University of Miami with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech Pathology. She went back to school at the University of Miami, as a single mother, and received a master’s degree in Business Administration.

Hedy’s accomplishments spanned many different facets of her life. These included, President of Community Land Company, in Morristown, NJ, Office Manager of Stephen Starr, CPA, PA, in Boca Raton, FL, Department Head at Boca Raton Community High School, Adjunct Professor at Palm Beach State College, Licensed Registered Representative of the SEC and NASD, Licensed Real Estate Broker, and a Certified Speech Pathologist and Audiologist, in Nashville, Tenn.

She was a member of Sigma Delta Tau, the Humane Society, the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, the World Wildlife Organization, the Tri County Humane Society, the Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia Global Research Foundation, and an active member of the Democratic Party.

She is survived by her son, Adam Gropper and his wife, Amy, her grandchildren, Emma Helen Gropper and Jack Nolan Gropper, and her loving and devoted partner, Ron (Simon).

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, September 28, 2025, at 9 a.m. at Beth Israel Cemetery, Cedar Knolls, NJ.

Arrangements were under the care of Dangler Funeral Home, Morris Plains, NJ.
