Obituary of Richard Miner Davidson

Richard Miner Davidson of Florham Park, New Jersey passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2025.  Richard died peacefully at Morristown Medical Center at the age of 78, surrounded by the love of his wife and sons.

 

Richard was born on April 30, 1947, in Orange, New Jersey.  His parents, John (Jack) and Marrian Davidson raised him in Chatham Borough, New Jersey, where he lived until his marriage.

 

Richard graduated from Gill St. Bernard's School in 1966, Gettysburg College in 1971, and Chubb Computer School in the early 1980’s.  He worked as a computer programmer at Beneficial Corporation, Dun & Bradstreet, FYI Systems, Inc., and Troll Communications.

 

Richard was an associate member of Amazing Grace Lutheran Church (formerly Good Shepherd), Historical Society of Florham Park, in which he had served as president and many other board offices, and Florham Park Senior Citizens Club.  He was a former member of the Florham Park Historic Preservation Commission, and Hanover Park Band Parents Association.  He also served on the Chatham Borough Environmental Commission while living there.

 

Beloved husband of 48 years to Christine Davidson (Holly); devoted father of James Davidson, Thomas Davidson and his wife, Erica;  and loving grandfather of Owen and Kyle Davidson.  Brother of Patrick Davidson and his wife, Diane and sister, Nancy Coleman.  Brother-in-law of Laura and Steven Dierbach.

 

Visitation will be on Saturday, November 1st from 9:00-10:00am at Burroughs, Kohr, & Dangler Funeral Home, 106 Main Street in Madison, followed by a funeral service at 10:00 am at the funeral home.  Interment is at Hanover Cemetery in East Hanover.
