Obituary of Christine D. Conti-Collins

Please share a memory of Christine to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Christine D. Conti-Collins, a longtime resident of Morristown, died on October 28th at her home. She was 75.

Christine was born and raised in Brooklyn, and earned a Bachelor’s degree in economics from St. Peter’s College in Jersey City, and later added a Master’s in economics from the University of Colorado in Denver.   She had a successful career as an executive in telecommunications operations, engineering, regulation and public policy – working for the Colorado public utilities commission, Mountain Bell, U S WEST, Bellcore and Global Crossing.

She retired in 2002 and became active in Morristown community affairs and local charities, including Employment Horizons, the Community Food Bank, and the Market Street Mission.

Christine was well known for her intelligence, generosity, and willingness to help others.  Her interests included travel, fine dining, antiques, and the arts, particularly collecting studio art glass.

Christine is survived by her husband Dan Collins, sister Roserita DuFresne and her husband Ray, sister Maryann Horton and her husband Joe Limandri, sister Viola D’Erario and her husband Vinnie, sister Regina Conti and her spouse Val Penna, and niece Antoinette Borruso and her husband Anthony – as well as by Dan’s son Brian and daughter-in-law Lauren, and their children Emily and Brielle, to whom Christine was a loving “Nana”.  She will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 6th from 1 to 4 pm at the Dangler Funeral Home, at 600 Speedwell Avenue in Morris Plains.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that you consider a donation to the American Cancer Society.
