Obituary of Julienne T. Gomez

Julienne Theresia Gomez: 1930-2025 -Mother, Grandmother, Nana & GG

Julienne T. Gomez (94) passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on December 6, 2025 just short of her 95th Birthday and also noted as the Belgian Christmas Holiday, which was a very special day to her. 

She was born in Rumst, Belgium. She traveled alone by boat for two weeks to the United States in 1951, at the age of 21. All of her schooling was accomplished in Belgium. She met her husband Arthur, of 49 years, shortly after coming to the United States. For 20 plus years, she worked as a bookkeeper at Channel in Whippany, after her children attended High School. 

Julienne loved her family and often reminisced about her early years in Belgium. She enjoyed spending time at the beach, watching the birds on her deck, and gardening.

She is survived by her Daughter, Tina Gomez Cecala (Son in law-Joseph Jr.), her Son Jeffrey Gomez (Daughter in law-Marianne), Grandchildren: Corrine Long (Gerard), Joseph Cecala III (Kate), Jeffrey Gomez II (Victoria), Julienne R. Gomez, and Chris Lentino. Julienne had 6 Great Grandchildren: Henry Gomez, Evelyn Cecala, Theo Gomez, Joseph Cecala IV, Cameron Long and Caden Long. She was predeceased by her husband Arthur, and her parents Maria and Felix Heps. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. 

A Viewing for family and friends will be on Thursday, December 11th from 5-8pm at Dangler Funeral Home of Morris Plains. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, December 12th at Dangler Funeral Home at 11:00am with an Interment to follow at Holy Rood Cemetery in Morris Township.
