Obituary of Barbara Conroy

Barbara Ann Conroy, 79, of Chatham, passed away at her home on February 3, 2026.

Born in Bennington, VT, Barbara resided in Chatham for the past 52 years. She graduated from Marylawn High School in South Orange and went on to earn her Bachelor’s degree from St. Elizabeth’s College in 1969.

Barbara worked as a Chemist for Merck Pharmaceuticals for over 30 years.  During her career, she was the biopsy coordinator for several of Summit Medical dermatology offices. Barbara was brilliant and highly respected for her dedication and compassion. She was well known and loved by all who knew her and had the privilege of working with her.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Katrina Conroy, of Carrboro, NC, and her granddaughter, Astrid Lei Skinner, of Wilson, NC, her cousins Linda Peters and Sandy McMelsick, her best friend of 75 years Marie Cavanaugh, the Bergstrom family, Noyer family, Leininger family, Wilson family, Law family, Skinner family, and Pompilio family.

A Memorial Mass for Barbara will be held on Friday, February 27, 2026 at 10:00 am at St. Vincent Martyr Church, 26 Green Village Road, Madison, NJ. Interment of Ashes will be private.
