Obituary of Barbara D. MacHale

Barbara Dickinson MacHale passed away peacefully on February 5, 2026, at the age of 87.

Barbara was joyfully reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, James, with whom she shared 65 years of marriage. They were married on November 25, 1961, in Baltimore, Maryland.

She is lovingly remembered by her three children - William, Timothy (Angelica), and Jennifer (Young Ngo) - and her seven grandchildren: Emily, Ryan, Cameron, Benjamin, Jonathan (MacHale), Minh, and MaiLee (Ngo).

Barbara was born in Baltimore, MD, in 1938. She graduated from Friends School and went on to earn a degree in Education from the University of Maryland.

Barbara cherished time spent with her family and grandchildren, whether traveling the world or exploring nature together. She was a devoted lover of the arts with a special talent for watercolor painting and stained glass making. Her compassion extended to animals as well. She lovingly raised rescue greyhounds and volunteered as a pet therapy companion. Barbara also found deep joy at her church, where she nurtured her faith through Bible study, attending cherished concerts, and serving her community with grace.

Barbara’s family invites you to a service at Morristown United Methodist Church, 50 South Park Place, Morristown, New Jersey, on February 9, 2026, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Morristown United Methodist Church, 50 South Park Place, Morristown, NJ.
