George Stephen Grivalsky, 83, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 26th. Born on January 5, 1943, in Boonton, New Jersey, George was the son of Stephen Grivalsky and Mary (Migdol) Grivalsky. He is preceded in death by both his parents, his brother Stephen and sister Eleanor, and his beloved wife Jeanne Marie (McLaughlin). He is survived by his daughters, Jennifer Boden and Danielle Grivalsky, their partners Jon Catlow and Tim McMahon, and granddaughters Allison and Anna Boden.

A graduate of Fairliegh Dickinson, George spent his career as an accountant. He owned Rose City Liquors in Madison, New Jersey, with his brother Stephen for many years, and then finished his career with Oetiker, a manufacturing company in Livingston, New Jersey. He was respected for his professionalism, dedication, and strong work ethic throughout his career.

He was a life-long, dedicated volunteer fireman in the Boonton Township and Florham Park Fire Departments for over 50 years. Even though he retired from active duty, he still listened to the fire department calls, and managed the finances for the Florham Park department.

George valued learning, responsibility, and providing for his family. He will be remembered for his quiet strength, kindness, and the relationships he built throughout his life.

A service will be held by the family on Tuesday, July 7th from 4-7 PM at the Burroughs, Kohr & Dangler Funeral Home in Madison, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Florham Park Fire Department.
