Obituary of Anthony L Mezzacca

Anthony L. Mezzacca, 75, passed away on July 2, 2026, at Morristown Medical Center surrounded by his family. Born in Summit, NJ, Anthony moved to Madison, NJ, as a 6 year old child and lived most of his life in Madison.

Anthony graduated from Madison High School in 1968. He continued his education at Fairleigh Dickenson University where he received a BS Degree  and Master’s Degree in Marketing. He was the owner of Mezzacca Motor Sports Photography as well as owner of AM Courier Service.

Anthony’s two great loves were photography and motor sports. He was an avid photographer of Formula One racing. For many years he was involved in photographing Formula One races at Watkins Glen, NY, and Limerock CT. He photographed and established friendships with many great drivers including Mario Andretti, Paul Newman, Mark Donohue, David Donohue, Dan Gurney, Derek Bell, Michael Keyser, Al Holbert, and many more.

His photographs have been published in many auto racing books and magazines over the years. Tony (as he liked to be called) has collaborated with many authors of auto racing books including Dr. Sean Cridland.

Anthony is survived by his sister, Ann Marie Mezzacca-Berlino and her husband Frank, Naperville, IL. He is also survived by his nephews, Jason Mezzacca, Marc Mezzacca and his wife, Tamar, and his nieces, Kristina Berlino-Violick and her husband, Kevin, and Jacyln Berlino-Duszynski and her husband, Joe, as well as four great nieces and one great nephew.

He was predeceased by his mother, Philomena Mezzacca, his father, Joseph Mezzacca, Sr., and his brother, Joseph Mezzacca, Jr., all of Madison, NJ.

A celebration of life and burial will take place at St. Theresa’s Cemetery, Summit, NJ, at a later date.

Donations may be made in Anthony’s memory to the Morristown Medical Center Cancer Center or Morristown Medical Center ICU, Morristown, NJ.

Arrangements are under the care of Burroughs, Kohr & Dangler Funeral Home, Madison, NJ.
