Obituary of Frances Taccetta

Frances Taccetta, 84, passed away at Future Care Chesapeake Nursing Home, Arnold, MD, May 21, 2026. Born in Kings County Brooklyn, NY, she resided in Bowie, MD, and Queenstown, MD, prior to moving to Arnold, MD, three years ago.

Frances graduated from Madison High School in 1958. She worked as an Administrative Secretary for the Bowie Board of Education in Maryland.

She and her husband, Wallace, owned a luncheonette for a few years in the ‘80’s where she was famous for her cheesecake…It was called Fran’s Deli, near Bowie MD.

Everyone loved Fran’s cheesecake!

She also became active in a line dance community, sharing her kindness and helping to teach. She enjoyed working in the elementary school, always happy to be around the children.

Her kindness and laughter will always be with us.

Frances is survived by her sister, Diane Taccetta. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Asah EIiades, Lea Venti, David Venti, Alexa Venti, Donovan Williams, Tina Mastrodomenico, Victoria Miller, Emil Bontempo, Michelle Best, Lisa Bontempo, Laura Fimiani, Kim Torppey, and Patty Fischer.

She was predeceased by her husband, Wallace Garlick, in 2001. She was also predeceased by her sisters, Angela Bontempo, Phyllis Taccetta, and Patricia Tacetta.

Family and friends are welcome to gather on Saturday, July 25, 2026, from 10am-12pm with a service at 11:30am at Dangler Funeral Home, 600 Speedwell Ave., Morris Plains, NJ. Interment of ashes will follow at 1pm at Somerset Hills Memorial Park, Basking Ridge, NJ.
