Obituary of Ann M. Johnson

Ann Marie Perry Johnson, age 88, of Williamsburg, Virginia, passed away on August 1, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Ann was born in Morris Plains, New Jersey, on March 30, 1938, to the late Edward A. and Florence Stillwell Perry.

Ann graduated from Morristown High School in 1956. Soon after, she married William Charles Johnson, her loving husband of 61 years. She was deeply blessed by her friendships at the Church of the Redeemer Community of Faith, where she faithfully served on the Vestry, as Altar Guild director, and as a senior warden. Alongside her husband, Ann was instrumental in the inception of the Eric Johnson House, a transitional home for people living with AIDS, which was named in honor of their late son, Eric.

An exceptionally artistic individual, Ann enjoyed crafts, gardening, reading, and cooking. Throughout her life, she remained highly active in numerous garden and book clubs.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, William Charles Johnson, and her sons, W. Eric Johnson and David Alan Johnson.

Ann is survived by her daughter, Leslie K. Huesing; her sons, Steven R. Johnson (Susan M. Hyatt), David W. Johnson, and Mark A. Johnson; and her grandchildren, Chelsea M. Huesing, Courtney P. Huesing, and Kristina L. Johnson. She also leaves behind her sister, Melissa Perry Ginsberg (Robert Ginsberg), and her nephews, Marc and Jason Ginsberg.

Friends and family are welcome to gather on Monday, August 10, 2026 from 4-7pm at Dangler Funeral Home, 600 Speedwell Avenue, Morris Plains. A Funeral Service for Ann will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at 11:00am at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Morristown.
