Obituary of Elaine Florence DeSantis

Elaine Florence DeSantis, 92, of Chatham, NJ passed away on August 9, 2026, surrounded by her family.

Elaine was born in Newark, NJ to Alfred and Palma Farkas on May 21, 1934.  She went to high school at East Orange High School and graduated in 1952.  Elaine taught dance for many years in Dover NJ and then worked for Mid-Atlantic Bank in many capacities until she retired. 

She was predeceased by her husband Anthony DeSantis, sisters -in-law Theresa DeSantis and Elia Bollo, brothers-in-law Jack DeSantis, Dominick DeSantis, and Richard Grey. 

She will be missed by her sister Janice Grey, sister-in-law Gwendolyn DeSantis and brother -in-law Nicholas DeSantis; her children Diane Guidone and her husband Paul Guidone, David DeSantis and his wife Karen DeSantis, and Douglas DeSantis; her grandchildren LT. Colonel Matthew Guidone (US Army) and his wife Jessica Guidone, Gregory Guidone and his wife Kathryn C. Guidone, Kathryn A. Guidone, Simone DeSantis and her husband Chris Mikkin and Alex DeSantis; and many beautiful great-grandchildren Alayna, Elisabeth, Alexandra, Gabriel and Sebastian as well as many loving nephews and nieces.

The family kindly requests that donations may be made in Elaine’s memory to the Chatham Public Library.
