Obituary of Leslie Jean Charron

Leslie Jean Charron (Nee Hennion) 78, of Morris Plains, passed away on Sunday, August 16th peacefully after an admirable battle with complications from heart surgery.

Born on January 6th in the year 1948 to Merrill and Dorothy Hennion of Morristown N.J. Leslie spent her life in the Morristown, Morris Township, and Morris Plains area residing in Morris Plains for over forty-one years. She was a graduate of County College of Morris and continued her education thereafter with Coldwell Banker where she would become a Real Estate agent in Morris County.

She was an avid reader, attended St. Virgil’s Church where she would sing in the choir for many years and donate her time whenever needed, enjoyed identifying birds that would frequent her home on Watnong Drive, and spent her free time with visits to her grandchildren’s and nephew’s sporting events. She was, undoubtedly, their number one fan traveling as far as Texas to catch a game.

Leslie is survived by her husband of 53 years, John; her children, John Michael and his wife Ivette, daughter Jennifer Leslie, her stepson Stephen and wife Joanne, her grandchildren, Johnny, Luke, Tyler, Blake, Christian, Matthew and Jordyn. Her sisters Laurie, Barbara, and Stephanie, and predeceased parents and brothers Merrill and Peter.

An angel on earth, with a gentle spirit and heart full of kindness. She loved her family beyond measure. Her sisters were the great treasures of her life. They were her closest confidants, fiercest protectors, and dearest friends. The unbreakable bond they shared was a source of endless strength, laughter, and unconditional love. A sisterhood that was one of the purest and precious things she carried with her always.

She considered her grandchildren the greatest gift the world could ever bestow on her. It was in them that she saw all things wonderful that this life has to offer. There was nothing more precious than their smile, more infectious than their laughs, and in their touch; sunshine. It is in them most where you can see her spirit live on.

Her marriage to John, whom she knew beyond their fifty three years of marriage, was truly an enduring love story, but his sister, Anna Mae Adamsky, would become her best friend and the family would be remiss if they didn’t recognize her here. In addition, her nephew Michael Pierce IV was as close to her as any grandchild could be. In him she found a constant light and happiness.

Family and friends are welcome to gather on Friday, August 21, 2026 from 4-7pm at Dangler Funeral Home, 600 Speedwell Avenue, Morris Plains. A Funeral Mass for Leslie will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026 at 10:00am at St. Virgil's Church, 250 Speedwell Avenue, Morris Plains. Interment will follow at Holy Rood Cemetery, Morristown.
