Wilma Jean “Jeannie” Lockery, 80, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away surrounded by her family at their home in Madison, NJ, on July 9, 2021. Jeannie was born in western Kentucky and enjoyed a childhood on her grandparent’s farm. Her family moved to Louisville, Kentucky, where she graduated from high school. While living and working in Louisville, she met and married her husband, Sam, with whom she moved to Richmond, Virginia, where they lived for fourteen years before moving back to Louisville. Jeannie lived in the house her husband built in Louisville for over forty years. She moved to Madison to be closer to her family while she sought medical treatment. Jeannie graduated in 1981 with high honors from Virginia Commonwealth University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Education. Before her retirement in 2006, she worked as an Event Planner with Executive Network based in Louisville. Jeannie is survived by her daughter Samantha Lockery and her husband, Christopher Then of Madison, adoring granddaughters, Kathryn Then and Madelyn Then, sister, Tina Barlow of Campbellsville, Kentucky, niece, Judy Soyars and her husband, Roger of Bowling Green, Kentucky, and cousins from the Williams family in Indiana. A family gathering will be held in Louisville, Kentucky at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Wilma's name to American Cancer Society, P.O.
