Obituary of Robert E. Dolan

Robert "Bob" E. Dolan, 92, of Florham Park, NJ, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, at his son's home in Sellersville, PA.
 
Born in Morristown, NJ, Bob resided in Madison, NJ, before settling in Florham Park, where he has lived for the past 64 years. After Bob graduated from St. Vincent School in 1948, he enlisted in the United States Navy. Bob proudly served his country from 1948-1952 during the Korean War, earning the rank of Aviation Electrician's Mate and received the United States Navy Good Conduct Medal. Before his retirement in 2000, Bob was a self-employed Carpenter for 48 years.
 
Bob was a faithful parishioner and Usher at Holy Family Church in Florham Park. Bob devoted countless days and hours to Veterans. He was the current Chaplin for the American Legion Post 43 in Florham Park, Bob would visit Veterans at VA hospitals and nursing homes, he would assist in proper burials for Veterans with no family, the list is endless. Bob also enjoyed volunteering with Meals on Wheels and was a lifetime member with the Florham Park Gun Club, in which he spent countless hours enjoying his favorite pastime shooting skeet with family and friends.
 
Bob is survived by his devoted children, Daniel K. Dolan and his wife Debra (predeceased), and Christopher M. Dolan and his wife, Maureen, daughter-in-law, Lisa Dolan, cherished grandchildren, Christopher M. Dolan (Kathryn), Joseph H. Dolan, Jessie Dolan (Austin), Robert E. Dolan III (Angela), and Rebecca Dolan. Bob is also survived by his six adoring great-granddaughters, caring sister, Marie Dolan, and sister-in-law, Irene Dolan, and five loving nieces and nephews.
 
Bob is predeceased by his beloved wife, Joan Dolan (2002), son, Captain Robert E. Dolan, Jr., USN (2001), and brother, William "Bill" Dolan.
 
Family and friends are welcome to gather on Friday, May 20, 2022 from 4 pm to 7 pm at Burroughs, Kohr & Dangler Funeral Home, 106 Main Street, Madison. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at 10 am at Holy Family Church, 1 Lloyd Avenue, Florham Park. Interment will follow at St. Vincent Cemetery, Madison.
 
In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob's memory may be made to your local American Legion.
